Article 1 - Primary Rules and Policies
Guild Stance:
Overture is going to be focusing its efforts primarily on 25-man content. While 10-man content will be actively encouraged as a vice for supplementing raid/content experience and gear, official sponsorship and organization is not promised, especially on days on which Overture is going to be conducting 25man raids.
[Note: It is encouraged for members of the Overture community to organize 10-man content and not solely up to the officer corps. Wearing the Jenkins title will result in you being removed from a raid.]
Raid Scheduling: [this section subject to constant change]
Prior to the development of a proper 25-man raid corps, official 10man raids will occur on days that are going to be slotted for 25-man content.
Tuesday* = 7 - 10 pm ST
Friday = 7 - 11 pm ST
Sunday = 6 - 10 pm ST
*on weeks with a major patch push, Tuesdays raids will be shifted to Wednesday.
General Loot Rules:
1. The 10man loot system and the 25man loot system are 100% independent of one another (ie. 10man loot does not impact DKP)
2. 10man loot is decided through an open roll. If you would like something, simply /roll when indicated by the raid leader. The person with the higest roll wins the item.
3. A main raider rolling on main spec gear will ALWAYS have priority on loot over an alt.
4. A main raider rolling on offspec gear will ALWAYS have priority on loot over an alt rolling on offspec gear.
5. An alt rolling on main spec gear will ALWAYS have priority on loot over a main rolling onoffspec gear.
6. When someone acquires something during a specific raid, they are still eligible to /roll for any other items that drop in the dungeon. However, please respect the fact other people in the raid could potentially roll on the same item. Ideally, interested parties would resolve the looting on their own and would embrace the mantra, "share share share".
[Note1: There may be certain circumstances or scenarios that may arise where a specific item might be disputed. In these situations, the judgement of the raid leader is FINAL, but is open to influence from the entire raid. In essence, the entire raid becomes a sort of "loot council".]
[Note2: We're all adults and should conduct ourselves in a mature manner - as far as loot distribution is concerned. Understand that the above rules are purposely created to be flexible in nature and in instances where debate is needed, involved parties need to keep their cool.]
[Note3: People love loot, but abhor greedy looters. Loot hoarding is a serious offense and will be evaluated on a case by case basis with a strict zero-tolerance policy.]
Raid Composition:
Alt Eligibility:
As long as a specific 10man dungeon is classed as "premiere content", alts will be unable to participate in that specific raid. Once moved to "farm" status, alts will be able to sign up for raids pending it is not to the detriment of a main raider. The only exception to this rule is if by not bringing an alt, the raid will be unable to clear content (ie. a healer is missing and someone is willing to switch to their healer alt to help the group).
Invitation of non-raid members:
As long as a specific 10man dungeon is classed as "premiere" or "farm", non-raid members will be unable to partcipate in that specific raid. Once moved to "open" status, non-raider members will be able to sign up for raids pending it is not to the detriment of a main raider. The only exception to this rule is if by not bringing a non-raider, the raid will be unable to clear content (ie. a healer is missing a non-raider is able to come on their healer to help the group).
Invitation of non-guild members:
As long as a specific 10man dungeon is classed as "premiere" or "farm", non-guild members will be unable to partcipate in that specific raid. Once moved to "open" status, non-guild members will be able to join raids pending it is not to the detriment of a guild member. The only exception to this rule is if by not bringing a non-guild member, the raid will be unable to clear content (ie. a healer is missing a non-guildie is able to come on their healer to help the group).

Article 2 - 25-Man Loot Distribution
25man - Loot Policy
- Heroic Raid Dungeons organised by Overture will utilise EPGP (Effort Points, Gear Points) as their loot distribution system
- You can download the mod at:[http://code.google.com/p/epgp/downloads/list] and then move the EPGP folder into your World of Warcraft Interface/AddOns one. In game, type /epgp.
[Note: for specific details of EPGP, please refer to: WoWWiki - EPGP page]
***********************************************************************
EP:
- Participation / Attendance EP = 100 EP per 30 minutes of raid participation.
[Note1: This feature is handled by a built-in EPGP mod feature to ensure accuracy of distribution. We will set the mod to announce in gchat everytime EP is dist'ed during a raid]
- Standbys* are awarded the EXACT same amount of participation EP as an active raider. To be classified as standby, you need to adhere to the following:
A). have signed up to the raid ahead of time
B). are not simultaneously in a seperate raid or dungeon
C). able to accept a summons almost immediately
[Note1: the EPGP mod is able to dist EP automatically to any person that is part of the raid group; even if over 25 people are present and even if their avatar is offline]
[Note2: the EPGP mod is unable to account for raiders who have signed up to the raid, but are NOT in the raid group; therefore, any desire to farm mats, run quests or participate in PvP that require you to leave the raid group will require you to notify an officer]
[Note3: when an alt participates in a raid, their accumulated EP is automatically dist'ed to their main and any acquired items impact the GP value of the of their main]
GP:
- GP values of an item are pre-determined by the EPGP mod
- Raiders acquiring loot for their main spec will take a 100% based GP value penalty hit
[Note1: The EPGP mod bases the GP value of an item off of its ilevel. The higher the ilevel of an item, the more GP it will cost to acquire that item. Therefore, base GP is NOT open to interpretation]
[Note2: Anyone with the EPGP mod enabled on their avatar will simply be able to mouse over an item to see its ilevel and GP level]
PR:
- PR is the quotient value of EP divided by GP.
- A raider with a higher PR value will receive "bidding" priority over someone with a lower PR value.
- A new raider cannot recieve bidding priority over someone with over 5000 EP until they reach 5000 EP. See Article 3 of this same page for more details on recruitment policy.
[Note1: A loot council will be in effect to make sure that PR is NOT abused in extreme cases. Example, a prot warrior bidding for a warglaive over a rogue or fury warrior]
[Note2: Legendary items may be handled seperately from the EPGP system. These will be handled on a case by case basis depending on the item]
Decay:
- EPGP decay = 15% per week
[Note1: GP and EP value decay is manipulated automatically via a EPGP mod feature]
[Note2: decay dist will occur prior to each raid week]
Article 3 - Recruitment
Application Stage:
The beginning of the recruitment process begins with the completion of an application located here. After completion and final submission, the application will then shortly be transferred by an officer to a private, member-only thread for all levels of the guild to evaluate and critique.
Factors such as class desirability, raid experience, applicant availability, gear level, apparent personality and professionalism will all be taken into serious consideration to judge whether or not an applicant is deemed worthy of serious evaluation. Accordingly, a letter of acceptance or rejection will then be forwarded to the applicant via in-game mail. If accepted, the applicant will then proceed onto the Initiate Stage.
Initiate Stage:
Pending applicant acceptance of the guild extended Initiate Stage invitation, the applicant will then bear the privilege of receiving the Overture tag above their head and be able to participate in most areas of the guild. This process is quite different than most guilds found on the server in that even before successful completion of your trial, you are brought in and considered an immediate part of the group. We have done this specifically for quick and direct exposure to our guild environment.
It is important to note that while the application process ends upon final acceptance and promotion to raid member status, the need / demand all members and officers of the guild for excellence never falters. Members of the guild will always be required to bring their best to every raid and continuously strive to become better players.
During this stage the applicant will be required to participate in a minimum of four (4) raids and have spent three (3) weeks within the guild before a decision is made. However, it should be noted that these values are set as a bare minimum and can vary from applicant to applicant. Furthermore, it needs to be stressed that while marked as an initiate, you will be judged not only on aspects that pertain to raiding (ie. preparation, skill and overall performance) but to how well you gel with other members outside of raids as well.
Through the Initiate Stage, the applicant will be given constant feedback and be expected to adjust accordingly. We recognize the strain that the trial period / new guild can put upon some individuals and will therefore not be unjust in our methods of evaluation. However, continuous or almost habitual poor performance coupled with a failure to adapt to the feedback provided by your peers will result in quick dismissal from the guild. Also, it is important to understand that if at any point during this process we feel the applicant is simply not a good cultural fit for the guild, they will be removed.
At the completion of the initiate stage, the officers will then convene for a meeting to discuss and vote on whether or not the applicant will be promoted or denied full membership. As a unanimous vote must be cast for admission, everything concerning the applicant - from his submitted to his time spent in the guild - will be weighted before the ballot is cast.
Loot Policy for Initiates:
During the recruitment process, the new member is allowed to collect EPGP like any other member of the guild. However, the member will not be allowed to collect any contested loot from any premiere raid content until 5000 EP is accumulated. Premiere content is considered the highest level instance the guild is currently progressing through, but is subject to change even through progression of an instance. This is limited to 25 man raids. During any 10-man/heroic they shall be allowed to roll just as any other member and will not be discriminated based on their standing within the guild. To review specifics on loot policies see Article 2 of this same page.
